Following the success of Postpaid Roaming, operators are offering the same roaming services to their Prepaid subscribers. There are different prepaid roaming solutions, however the most widely spread is the Customised Applications for Mobile Enhanced Logic (CAMEL) solution. CAMEL is today’s standard for real-time network services and real-time roaming. CAMEL forces operators to make important network changes.
This 1-day course provides an in-depth overview of the CAMEL network architecture. As part of the IN platform, CAMEL is discussed including all major network elements. SCP, SSP, CAP signaling will be part of the network architecture that is described. CAMEL IREG and TADIG Testing is discussed in detail following the relevant GSMA documents. On the commercial part, the pricing structure, TAP file flow and charging (flat rate or mark-up) is described.
